Pearl Abyss is expanding the setting of Crimson Desert to the sea and underwater. It continues the story after the main game while adding new content such as sailing, underwater exploration and fortress construction to broaden the gameplay experience.
Pearl Abyss unveiled the large Crimson Desert DLC, Charting the Unknown, at Sony Interactive Entertainment's online State of Play showcase on Sept. 3 local time. The South Korean release date is Oct. 16.
The company said the DLC lets users captain a ship and explore the seas and islands of Pywel. It also adds underwater exploration in which players wear diving gear to search for undersea ruins and treasure. The revealed video includes scenes of moving by grabbing a shark's dorsal fin and confronting a large monster in the deep sea.
Life-simulation content is also expanding. Users can build a fortress, rent multiple facilities and run them themselves. The existing housing system is also improved, and elements for interacting with Pywel residents and building relationships are strengthened.
Pearl Abyss also began taking pre-orders with the trailer release. Pre-order buyers will receive a diving suit set that Cliff, Unka and Damian can wear.
