South Korea FSC files complaint against 11 over alleged 100 billion won stock manipulation
South Korea\'s Financial Services Commission said its Securities and Futures Commission filed a complaint with prosecutors against 11 people and 4 related companies linked to an organised stock manipulation case. The suspects include a wealthy operator of a general hospital and a large private academy, asset management executives, a financial company branch manager and a minority shareholder activist. Authorities said they targeted DI Dongil, deployed more than 100 billion won and later attempted to expand to another stock before the conduct was halted by account payment suspension and searches.

Welcome Savings Bank Seomyeon branch prevents 16 million won voice phishing loss
Welcome Savings Bank said on Feb. 13 that an employee at its Seomyeon branch received a letter of appreciation from Busanjin Police Station for pre-emptively blocking voice phishing damage. The recognition followed a Jan. 16 case in which a customer was nearly deceived into losing 16 million won. The employee reported the case, suspended payments and registered anti-fraud services, and prevented additional losses.

Bithumb warns against phishing posing as compensation for misdirected bitcoin
Bithumb said on Feb. 13 users should beware of phishing messages impersonating compensation guidance linked to a Feb. 6 incident involving misdirected random box bitcoin payouts. The exchange said official compensation notices contain no URL links and are provided only through its customer center. It said it does not request IDs, passwords or other personal information, and does not send texts or emails with attachments or ask customers to transfer virtual assets.
