PIPC issues privacy protection guidelines for individuals and organisations
South Korea\'s Personal Information Protection Commission on Monday issued preventive guidelines as hacking that exploits security vulnerabilities using AI increases and concerns grow over data leaks and secondary 피해. The commission advised individuals to withdraw from unused websites, use services to check identity verification history, and regularly confirm account leaks or identity theft through public services. It also provided contact points for reporting privacy violations and financial fraud and urged organisations to review systems, devices and APIs handling personal data.

DAXA moves for joint response ahead of revised foreign exchange transactions law
The Digital Asset Exchange Alliance (DAXA) said it is supporting domestic virtual asset service providers (VASPs) as South Korea prepares to implement a revised Foreign Exchange Transactions Act on Dec. 3. DAXA held a briefing in Seoul on building a VASP-only foreign exchange reporting network. The revised law requires prior registration for cross-border digital-asset transfers and reporting of transfer details to the Bank of Korea’s foreign exchange system.

South Korea FSC files complaint against 11 over alleged 100 billion won stock manipulation
South Korea\'s Financial Services Commission said its Securities and Futures Commission filed a complaint with prosecutors against 11 people and 4 related companies linked to an organised stock manipulation case. The suspects include a wealthy operator of a general hospital and a large private academy, asset management executives, a financial company branch manager and a minority shareholder activist. Authorities said they targeted DI Dongil, deployed more than 100 billion won and later attempted to expand to another stock before the conduct was halted by account payment suspension and searches.
