Lido adds direct Ethereum staking across four layer2 networks

Liquid staking protocol Lido added a feature to its staking interface that lets users stake Ethereum on four layer2 networks: Arbitrum, Base, Linea and Optimism. Users receive wstETH on the network they already use without moving assets to Ethereum mainnet and back. The service is provided based on Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol. Deposited ETH is swapped via a dedicated liquidity pool and is ultimately staked on Ethereum mainnet.

Cohere pursues acquisition of AI-based vulnerability detection security startup AISLE

Canadian AI company Cohere has signed a letter of intent to acquire AISLE, a San Francisco security startup focused on AI-based software vulnerability detection, Reuters reported on Oct. 15. The acquisition terms were not disclosed. Cohere plans to strengthen security and threat-detection capabilities for enterprise and public-sector customers, who may also install AISLE directly on their systems. AISLE was founded in 2025 by former Avast CEO Ondrej Vlcek.

Tesla Roadster, 9 years late, faces growing doubts ahead of reveal

Tesla is preparing to unveil a production version of its next-generation Roadster after about nine years. The delay comes as growth in the electric-vehicle market slows and Tesla’s business focus shifts toward autonomous driving and robots. The company has touted extreme acceleration, top speed and an optional SpaceX package, but those claims need verification in a mass-produced car. Weak demand for costly electric hypercars and shifting strategies by rivals add to doubts.
