LG Electronics to pay interim dividend for second straight year, implement 200 billion won shareholder returns
LG Electronics said on Tuesday it filed details of its 2026 interim dividend plan after a board resolution. The record date is Aug. 13 and it will pay a cash dividend of 500 won per share for both common and preferred shares, totalling 89.7 billion won, with payment scheduled for Aug. 28. The company also completed a 100 billion won share buyback and plans to cancel the shares this year as part of its shareholder return plan.

LG Uplus to buy back 90 billion won of shares, invest 1.3 trillion won more in Paju AI data center
LG Uplus will acquire 90 billion won worth of treasury shares and use them to boost shareholder value through measures such as cancellation. The company approved the buyback at a board meeting on July 29 as part of its value-up plan announced in November 2024. LG Uplus has continued buybacks and cancellations since disclosing the plan. It also disclosed an additional 1.3 trillion won investment to build the second phase of its Paju AI data center.

Sungwoo posts 1 billion won 2025 operating profit, down 92.9 percent
Battery company Sungwoo said on Sunday it posted 85.6 billion won in 2025 revenue and 1 billion won in operating profit. Revenue fell 34.7 percent from a year earlier and operating profit dropped 92.9 percent. Net profit declined 73.0 percent to 4.9 billion won. Fourth-quarter revenue slid 34.9 percent to 19.4 billion won, but operating profit came to 1.3 billion won, returning to the black.
