Google unpublished quantum attack circuits already reproducible, warning flags bitcoin security threshold
Warnings that quantum computing could threaten cryptocurrency security have resurfaced, with some experts arguing even unpublished attack methods can already be reproduced. Ben Goertzel said Google’s secrecy is unlikely to be a real defense and highlighted an on-spend attack scenario that could break encryption in about 9 minutes, implying a 41 percent success probability. Alea Research defined Aleo’s USDCx as a privacy stablecoin that protects corporate information while complying with regulations, according to a new report. The report outlines how USDCx, issued on Aleo’s mainnet in collaboration with Circle International, uses selective disclosure, encrypted compliance records and view keys to limit data exposure. It also describes Aleo’s zero-knowledge proof technology, which keeps sender, recipient and amount encrypted while enabling network verification.

a16z says blockchain is solution to AI trust crisis
a16z Crypto, the crypto division of Andreessen Horowitz, said blockchain is needed in the AI era because AI can generate text, voice and video at ultra-low cost and carry out humanlike interactions at scale, threatening online trust. It said proof-of-personhood can let users store identity on blockchain and use it across platforms, raising the cost of identity forgery. It also cited layer2, smart contracts and zero-knowledge proofs.
