Legacy security models cannot stop threats from AI spread; ambient and autonomous agents are the answer
As AI spreads inside companies, security risks are growing, and Microsoft is highlighting “ambient” and “autonomous” as key concepts. Mick Doone (믹 듄), a senior security adviser manager for Asia Pacific, said security must be built into systems from the design stage and operate continuously across identity, endpoints, cloud, data and AI agents. He said prompt and response tampering and agent-connected plugins can become attack paths.

Nvidia to unveil integrated CPU-GPU-NPU chip for laptops
Nvidia is introducing a system-on-chip for laptops that integrates a CPU, GPU and NPU, drawing attention to how much it could threaten Intel, AMD and Qualcomm. The Wall Street Journal reported Dell and Lenovo plan to launch products using Nvidia’s laptop chip this year, though no official announcement has been made. Nvidia and partners are focusing on longer battery life and slimmer designs. WSJ also reported Nvidia is working with Intel and MediaTek on PC chips and is expanding into data-centre CPUs.

ABB launches ABB Ability System 800xA 7.0 distributed control system
ABB on Feb. 10 launched ABB Ability System 800xA 7.0, the latest version of its distributed control system, to support modernisation in industrial sites without operational downtime and accelerate shifts to next-generation automation. The company said the release applies long-term support to provide a predictable environment for both existing facilities and new projects, and offers broad Windows OS compatibility and added support for virtualisation platforms. It also introduces ABB’s Automation Extended programme for phased adoption of digital technologies.
