Microsoft Copilot OS prototype leaks, codename \'Ion\' confirmed
Microsoft has developed a Copilot OS prototype it calls by the codename \'Ion,\' according to a report. Its existence was confirmed after 2024 materials were leaked, Windows Central reported on Thursday. The interface is based on web technologies using the Microsoft Edge browser and offers desktop-style features such as a Start menu, taskbar and window layering. It can replace the desktop shell on Windows 11 or run on AOSP Android.

Microsoft Edge browser to allow sign-in with Google account
Microsoft will add a feature allowing users to sign in to the Edge browser with a Google account, Windows Central reported on June 18. According to Microsoft’s roadmap, the company is developing the capability and plans to distribute it to all users in July. The feature will support Windows and macOS, and administrators will be able to control its use through policy settings. Edge previously allowed sign-in only with a Microsoft account.
