Qualcomm chip-based Microsoft Surface PCs show 80 percent faster local AI inference
Qualcomm presented agentic AI as the direction for its Snapdragon X2 series at Snapdragon Summit 2026 in Maui, Hawaii. Microsoft unveiled a 12-inch Surface Pro and a 13-inch Surface Laptop powered by Snapdragon X2 Plus. Qualcomm said local AI inference is 80 percent faster than the previous generation and GPU performance is up to 55 percent higher. The company also highlighted more operating systems, software demos and wider retail and enterprise adoption.
