Shinhan Financial to provide 6 billion won over 3 years to boost social solidarity economy
Shinhan Financial Group will provide a total of 6 billion won over the next three years to help activate the social solidarity economy. Working with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, it plans to expand a local circular economy model centered on Ansim Village in Daegu. The group will invest 2 billion won a year through the Shinhan Financial Hope Foundation. The support expands a 2023 agreement into the social solidarity economy field.

Shinhan Financial signs MOU with health ministry to expand support for families in crisis
Shinhan Financial Hope Foundation said on March 25 it held a donation ceremony for the “Just Dream” initiative and signed a business agreement to link support for families in crisis. The event took place on March 24 in Seoul with the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the Community Chest of Korea and the Korea Council on Social Welfare. Shinhan plans to link about 1,000 households identified through Just Dream to its crisis-family support programme.

Moves by South Korean companies to integrate stablecoins into payment services are accelerating as industry plans become more concrete. Hecto Financial is working with Singapore-based stablecoin payments firm TripleA to build a global payment and settlement service, and has joined Circle’s Circle Payments Network. Blockchain-based payment and settlement infrastructure company SuhoIO unveiled a next-generation foreign exchange settlement model using stablecoins.
