Cisco will acquire AI observability startup Galileo Technologies, SiliconANGLE reported on Thursday. The purchase price was not disclosed and the deal is expected to close within the fourth quarter. Galileo develops tools to observe and evaluate AI models, including a platform that monitors multi-agent systems in real time and applies guardrails to ensure accuracy. Galileo’s solutions are set to be integrated into Cisco’s Splunk observability platform.

News that Anthropic is testing a new security model known as Claude Mythos again pushed down shares of security firms on fears AI could reduce demand for their products. Boldstart Ventures founder Ed Sim says advanced AI models are an opportunity, not a threat, because cyber risks rise as models evolve. He cited a supply-chain attack involving LiteLLM and said layered security is needed, combining LLM-based detection with deterministic verification.
