LG Uplus launches global bug bounty with HackerOne
LG Uplus will operate a global bug bounty programme from Aug. 24 in partnership with HackerOne, the company said. The programme will cover all of LG Uplus\' services, including mobile, internet and enterprise services, and aims to find potential vulnerabilities that are difficult to detect through domestic security verification alone. Participation will be limited to vetted, experienced white hackers in a private format, with continuous reporting used to detect threats and improve weaknesses.

As artificial intelligence is rapidly adopted in cybersecurity, security patching practices across the tech industry are changing, with patch releases growing faster and larger than before. Microsoft rolled out its biggest-ever security patch after using AI to detect code vulnerabilities. The United States introduced a new coordination framework called Gold Eagle to speed detection, prioritisation and patching for critical infrastructure. Companies also launched AI-native security platforms, initiatives and services across cloud, operations and vulnerability testing.

Aton joins AI-based vulnerability defence initiative Project Canopy
Aton said on Wednesday it has joined Project Canopy, an initiative aimed at spreading AI-based vulnerability defence technology, as a Defending Partner. Project Canopy is a public-interest AI security alliance launched in June by the non-profit Project Plasma, focusing on boosting defences for domestic public-interest and livelihood infrastructure with limited security resources. Defending Partners receive vulnerability and patch information and can request checks of open-source and infrastructure systems.
