KAIST develops AI chip that adapts response to data speed
Researchers at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) have developed an AI semiconductor device that adjusts its response characteristics to match how quickly data changes. KAIST said the team developed a programmable dynamic memtransistor and an integrated array by combining a charge storage layer and an electron trapping layer in one transistor. Experiments showed recovery time could be tuned about fivefold and frequency characteristics by more than 10-fold, cutting prediction errors by up to 40-fold in tests.
