MSIT discusses quantum technology cooperation with 13 countries, seeks to expand joint R&D

South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT is expanding international cooperation with 13 major countries to industrialise quantum technology. It will host the 9th Multilateral Dialogue on Quantum Technology in Seoul through Oct. 16 and hold a business networking event. Participants will share policy updates and discuss OECD recommendations. South Korea will present plans for three quantum clusters and propose joint R&D and a study on cross-border talent mobility.

Europol says crypto wallets vulnerable to quantum attacks, moving funds early is only solution

Europol urged the crypto industry and policymakers to prepare for quantum computing risks, warning cryptocurrency wallets using public and private keys are a key exposure point. It said blockchains’ hash functions and mining structures are relatively safer, but wallets with public keys already exposed on-chain could be hard to protect once attacks begin. Europol cited estimates of 6.04 million bitcoin exposed and flagged technical hurdles in switching to quantum-resistant signatures.

Tving strengthens cloud security framework with AWS

Tving said on Thursday it conducted a Security Improvement Program with Amazon Web Services to assess and improve its cloud security level. The programme analyses actual cloud usage to identify vulnerable areas, derive improvement tasks and set a tailored roadmap. Tving said it applied CIS controls, the NIST cybersecurity framework and AWS best practices, and will strengthen security across identity management, detection, infrastructure and data protection, and incident response and automation.
