KAIST develops AI to reconstruct satellite images obscured by clouds
Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology said it has developed an AI foundation model, GeoCore-9B, that can reconstruct satellite images hidden by clouds and convert synthetic aperture radar imagery into optical-style images. The model has about 9 billion parameters and was trained on 10 million pairs of global satellite images and captions. KAIST said tests using public satellite data showed improved performance over existing specialist models in key cloud-removal metrics.

Com2uS secures three Japanese anime IPs
Com2uS has secured three Japanese anime intellectual property titles with established global fan bases: \"Tougen Anki Crimson Inferno\", \"Gachiakuta: The Game\" and \"A-Rank Party\". The titles were showcased at AnimeJapan 2026 in Tokyo. The company is preparing to launch \"Tougen Anki Crimson Inferno\" in the early to mid part of the second half of this year and targets a 2027 release for \"Gachiakuta\" for PC and consoles.

KAIST develops \'Soulmate\' ultra-personalised LLM accelerator
KAIST said on March 17 that a research team led by Yoo Hoe-jun (유회준), a professor at its Graduate School of AI Semiconductor, developed a personalised large language model (LLM) accelerator called \'Soulmate\' that evolves to match user characteristics. The on-device AI chip implements RAG and LoRA within the semiconductor, enabling 0.2-second responses while learning in real time. It also cuts power use and keeps personal data on the device.
