K-batteries signal rebound on Europe security logic
South Korean battery makers that have hit an earnings bottom are expected to rally as Europe pushes energy security and seeks to reduce dependence on Chinese batteries. LG Energy Solution, Samsung SDI and SK On kept combined market share in the 30 percent range in Europe in January. A proposed EU Industrial Accelerator Act would tighten conditions on some large third-country investors while easing rules for FTA partners such as South Korea, potentially limiting China’s direct investment.
