National Assembly research service says LG Uplus IMSI system may violate personal information law
South Korea\'s National Assembly Research Service issued a review suggesting LG Uplus\' operation of its subscriber identity number (IMSI) system could violate the Personal Information Protection Act. It said an IMSI may be hard to identify on its own but could identify individuals when combined with carriers\' subscriber data, and the risk is higher if it reflects phone numbers. The service also raised questions about safety-measures obligations and use beyond the original purpose.

Next Galaxy Tab S12 and Galaxy Watch models surface in GSMA database
Details of Samsung Electronics\' upcoming tablets and smartwatches have emerged through the GSMA IMEI database as the company prepares to unveil the Galaxy S26 smartphone series this month. The listings include Galaxy Tab S12 Plus 5G and Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra 5G, with no standard Tab S12 model shown. Two watches also appear: Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and Galaxy Watch 9. An unveiling in the second half of 2026 is seen as possible.
