Mitsubishi enters humanoid race, targets output of 1,000 units a month by 2027
Mitsubishi is joining forces with Japanese robot startup Highlanders to mass-produce humanoid robots, aiming to secure capacity of 1,000 units a month by the end of 2027 and deploy them on its own factory production lines. The companies have signed an MOU to jointly develop robots and build a mass-production system, with Mitsubishi’s Kyoto plant serving as the production base. The project is driven by worsening labour shortages, the company said.
