Pearl Abyss launches first Crimson Desert DLC, tests long-term monetisation
Pearl Abyss is releasing the first paid downloadable content for its open-world action-adventure game Crimson Desert as it tests long-term monetisation. The title has surpassed 6 million copies sold globally since launching in March, but sales have slowed after an early surge. The company plans to extend the game’s sales life through DLC and broader platform availability. The new DLC adds sea and underwater exploration, expanded life-simulation features and a management system.
