Tesla, SpaceX unveil details of $16.8 billion Terafab, Musk calls it most valuable building on Earth
Tesla and SpaceX have selected Grimes County, Texas as the site for Terafab, a semiconductor mega-factory, and put first-phase investment at about $16.8 billion. The companies project the site will exceed 100 million square feet when completed and describe it as the world’s largest chip manufacturing facility. SpaceX released renderings and said the design could change. The plan faces questions over funding certainty, water use and local opposition.
