Xbox Series X loses appeal as prices rise and PC gap narrows

Microsoft’s Xbox Series X is losing purchase appeal as console prices and Game Pass subscription fees rise and its differentiation from PCs weakens, an analysis said. Prices have climbed from $499 at launch to $725 to $900 depending on storage and model. Game Pass Ultimate rose as high as $29.99 a month before being lowered to $22.99. The report also cited fewer console-only titles and a performance disadvantage versus Sony’s PS5 Pro.

Pearl Abyss\' Crimson Desert ranks No.1 in Steam revenue among new IPs released this year

Pearl Abyss said on July 27 its open-world action adventure game Crimson Desert recorded the highest Steam revenue among new intellectual properties released this year. A report published by global market research firm Alinea Analytics estimated the game generated more than $190 million in cumulative revenue on Steam alone since its March release. It ranked third in Steam revenue among all titles released this year and was the only new IP in the top five.
