Shinhan Financial starts selecting CEOs for 12 units, expands bank nomination panel role
Shinhan Financial Group has begun selecting next chief executives for 12 subsidiaries whose CEOs’ terms expire at the end of this year. It plans to improve management succession procedures by expanding the authority of the bank’s executive candidate nomination committee to recommend candidates and by detailing CEO evaluation criteria for each unit. The group’s subsidiary CEO nomination committee also recommended Shinhan REITs Management CEO Lim Hyun-woo as head of a merged entity.

NH Investment Securities recommends Shin Jae-wook and Bae Gwang-soo as next co-CEOs
NH Investment Securities recommended Shin Jae-wook, head of the real estate and infrastructure business division, and Bae Gwang-soo, head of the wealth management division, as candidates for its next chief executives. The nominations are part of a move from a sole CEO system to a co-CEO structure. The firm plans to seek board approval and hold an extraordinary shareholders meeting on June 30 to appoint the CEOs.

Choi Woo-hyung reappointed as K Bank CEO after unanimous nomination panel vote
Choi Woo-hyung (최우형), CEO of K Bank, secured another term after being credited with stabilising the organisation and advancing business strategy. K Bank’s executive candidate nomination committee said on Feb. 26 it recommended Choi as the next chief executive. The panel said it reviewed his career and management performance during his tenure and judged him qualified to carry out the bank’s vision while adhering to public interest and sound management principles. The recommendation passed unanimously and is set to be finalised after a shareholders meeting at the end of March.
