Bitcoin halving cycle passes 50% mark, next halving seen in April 2028
Bitcoin has moved beyond half of its current halving cycle. Coindesk reported the network has passed 50.01 percent of the cycle, with the next halving expected on April 12, 2028. The current cycle, known as Epoch 5, began in April 2024. Block rewards are 3.125 bitcoin per block and about 450 bitcoin are issued daily. Bitcoin’s inflation rate has fallen below 1 percent, while price gains since the halving have been modest compared with prior cycles.
