Countries expand social media bans for teens amid doubts over effectiveness
More countries are moving to ban or restrict social media use by children and teenagers despite questions over effectiveness. Britain plans to ban social media for all under-16s from early 2027, covering apps including Snapchat, TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and X. Australia has already imposed a similar ban, and Malaysia has started enforcing rules against under-16 accounts. Other countries, including Indonesia, Brazil and several EU members, are pursuing comparable measures.

SoftBank\'s Son says AI is at start of internet era, 50 times bigger than dotcom boom
SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son said the AI revolution is likely 50 times bigger than the 2000s dotcom boom and that AI is at a stage comparable to the early internet. His remarks followed SoftBank\'s announcement that it will invest 75 billion euros to build AI infrastructure in France, including 5 GW of data centre capacity. Son said market corrections are possible but can create the best investment opportunities.

Naver CEO Choi Soo-yeon meets Macron to discuss AI cooperation
Naver met French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday during his state visit to South Korea marking 140 years of diplomatic ties, and discussed cooperation between companies in the two countries. Naver CEO Choi Soo-yeon introduced the company\'s capabilities in AI and cloud technologies and outlined its experience operating Naver Labs Europe in Grenoble. Macron said France would support expanded technology exchanges, investment and partnerships in AI and cloud industries.
