OpenAI executive says people should not be uniformly pessimistic about AI
OpenAI pushed back against growing pessimism about artificial intelligence, with its global policy vice president Chris Lehane saying debate is swinging between exaggerated optimism and extreme pessimism. He said the industry needs to better explain how AI can help individuals, families and society. His comments come as a Pew Research survey found only 17 percent expect AI to have a positive impact on the United States over the next 20 years. OpenAI also outlined proposals to spread AI’s economic gains, while noting risks are already emerging.

OpenAI acquires Silicon Valley tech talk show TBPN
OpenAI has acquired the technology industry talk show TBPN (Technology Business Programming Network), TechCrunch reported on April 2. It is OpenAI\'s first acquisition of a media company, and TBPN will join under OpenAI\'s chief political officer, Chris Lehane. Hosted by John Coogan and Jordi Hays, TBPN airs live daily for three hours on YouTube and X, covering tech, business, AI and defence issues.

MSIT visits Nvidia, OpenAI to review progress on AI cooperation
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said Second Vice Minister Ryu Je-myung visited Nvidia and OpenAI headquarters in California on Jan. 9 local time to review progress on cooperation that began after meetings last October between President Lee Jae-myung and the companies\' CEOs. The ministry said Ryu discussed GPU procurement, public investment in AI infrastructure, and a possible Nvidia R&D centre in Korea. He also met OpenAI\'s chief global affairs officer and attended a United Korean Founder event.
