B2B fintech Ramp raises $1.85 billion, valued at $60 billion

B2B fintech startup Ramp has raised $1.85 billion through a new share issuance and was valued at $60 billion, Reuters reported on Oct. 15 local time. The round was led by Dragoneer Investment Group, with Thrive Capital, Founders Fund, Sands Capital and Avenir Growth as co-leads. Ramp, based in New York, provides corporate cards and expense management software. It has more than 85,000 corporate customers.

Google DeepMind says no evidence AI self-improvement is accelerating, diverging from industry warnings

Google DeepMind said it has not confirmed that AI is producing more advanced AI or that internal AI research is accelerating in a meaningful way. In a safety report on Gemini 4 Argon, it said no statistically significant change in progress has appeared since April 1, 2026, even though AI writes more than 75 percent of production code. It said automation remains limited and largely requires human direction, while some industry figures warn recursive self-improvement is already speeding up.

Offensive security startup CodeWall raises $4 million to replace penetration testing

British offensive security startup CodeWall has raised $4 million. The company provides AI agents to banks and other businesses that try to attack their systems like external hackers. The agents begin attacks without account credentials or internal prior information, operate in parallel and compile findings into a single investigation map. Customers can review attack paths with evidence, and the agents retest when new systems or patches are introduced.
