NATO, UK and Germany ramp up investment in drones and autonomous systems
Europe is rapidly shifting its security investment toward drones and autonomous systems. In recent weeks, NATO set out plans to strengthen counter-drone capabilities, while the UK earmarked billions of pounds for a drone programme and Germany moved to expand drone procurement for Ukraine. Companies tied to drone software and battlefield networks are also drawing attention. Funding has followed the trend, including a new valuation for defence technology startup Helsing.
