MSIT to launch AI platform for compound disaster response with MOIS and MOLIT
South Korea will begin developing an AI platform to predict and respond to disasters at large mixed-use facilities such as supertall buildings linked to underground shopping areas and subways. The Ministry of Science and ICT said it will work with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. The three-year project will run from 2026 to 2028 with a total investment of 25.5 billion won.

MSIT holds joint briefing on 10 AI projects for livelihoods, to roll out services sequentially
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said on Thursday it will hold a joint briefing in Seoul on its \"10 AI projects for livelihoods\" to quickly introduce services people can experience in daily life. The projects span consumer life, public convenience and social safety, and involve 10 ministries and agencies and participating companies. The ministry plans to sequentially launch 4 services within 2026 and start the remaining 6 projects in the first half of 2027.

LG Uplus teams up with spatial data firm to expand next-generation bus information system
LG Uplus will work with spatial information company All4land to advance a next-generation bus information system based on high-precision positioning technology. The two companies signed an agreement on March 16 at LG Uplus headquarters in Seoul to expand BIS. They plan to upgrade and launch the AI Live Bus on a subscription basis and co-develop a low-power bus information terminal using solar power and e-paper, targeting completion in the second half of the year.
