Android tops iPhone in Japan, smartphone OS survey shows
Android accounts for 54.1 percent of primary smartphone use in Japan, ahead of iPhone at 45.6 percent, a survey found. MMD Research polled 40,000 people aged 18 to 79 online and analyzed 34,838 valid responses with population weighting. iPhone use was highest on NTT Docomo’s ahamo plan, while Android was highest at Rakuten Mobile. iPhone 16 led among iPhone users, while Sharp’s AQUOS led among Android users.
