South Korea joins OpenAI GTAC program, first in Asia alongside Japan
South Korea will join a cyber security consultative body run by OpenAI, the government said. The Ministry of Science and ICT said it held a meeting with OpenAI on cooperation on responding to AI security threats and securing AI safety and trust, and formalised participation in the Government Trusted Access for Cyber program. It said South Korea and Japan are the first in Asia to participate, with KISA to carry out working-level tasks.

The European Central Bank has urgently convened euro zone banks to review cyber risks triggered by Anthropic\'s advanced AI model Claude Mythos. A meeting on May 26 will focus on how quickly banks apply security patches and how they respond to AI-driven attacks. ECB supervisory board vice chair Frank Elderson said attackers can now reverse-engineer patch contents within 30 minutes, requiring faster deployment and operations.
