Akamai signs $1.8 billion cloud deal with major AI firm; shares jump 25 percent
Akamai said it signed a $1.8 billion cloud infrastructure services contract with an AI company, sending its shares up 25 percent in premarket trade, CNBC reported. CEO Tom Leighton said the seven-year agreement is with a leading frontier model provider but did not name the company. Akamai said first-quarter revenue rose 6 percent to more than $1 billion, with cloud infrastructure services revenue up 40 percent to $95 million.
