Broadcast media commission, interior ministry and gender equality ministry sign AI cooperation deal on deepfake sex crimes
The Broadcast Media Communications Commission, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family signed an AI technology cooperation agreement on June 25 to respond to deepfake sex crimes. The agencies will share an AI deepfake detection and analysis model developed with the National Forensic Service and use it for detecting, removing and blocking harmful videos and for victim protection. They also agreed to cooperate on security measures to prevent secondary harm.

AI use spreads ahead of June 3 local elections, from polls to vote count broadcasts
Generative AI is being used more widely than ever ahead of the June 3 nationwide local elections in South Korea, including in opinion polling, broadcasters’ real-time vote count analysis and explanations, and deepfake monitoring. SBS and OpenAI Korea plan to use GPT-5.5 for real-time natural-language commentary during an election night broadcast. AI-based “silicon sampling” is also drawing attention in polling, while authorities are deploying AI models to detect deepfakes.

Toss Securities steps up prevention against illegal tip groups, impersonation and phishing ahead of Lunar New Year
Toss Securities said on Thursday it will take steps to prevent damage from financial crimes such as illegal stock tip group solicitations, impersonation and phishing around the Lunar New Year holiday. It will send alerts highlighting scam tactics that lure investors with promises of high returns and direct them to external group chats. The alerts include response guides, and posts likely to cause consumer harm will be detected and halted using machine-learning logic.
