Sony says PlayStation digital games are licensed, not owned, fights class action
Sony has told a U.S. federal court that digital games bought on the PlayStation Store are not owned by users but provided under a licence, as it fights a class action alleging the word \"buy\" misleads consumers. The suit cites California law AB 2426, which requires clear disclosure when a transaction is a licence. Sony says its checkout already links to terms stating users do not own the product and is asking the court to send the dispute to private arbitration.
