Game overuse may be temporary, tracked over five years, study finds
A study found that game overuse can be a temporary phenomenon linked to growth or changes in living environment. Tracking gamers from 2020 to 2024, a report by the Korea Creative Content Agency said many respondents initially in an at-risk group for problematic game behavior tended over time to move naturally into comparison or general user groups. A related clinical cohort study found no clear evidence that gaming itself causes anatomical or functional damage.
