The key to this outlook is how much Apple pairs its smart home lineup with a September event centered on the iPhone and Apple Watch. [Photo: NineToFiveMac]

[DigitalToday reporter Jinju Hong (홍진주)] Apple may unveil eight new products at its September event next month, including the iPhone 18 series, Apple Watch and smart home devices.

NineToFiveMac, an IT outlet, cited the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, iPhone Ultra, Apple Watch Series 12, Apple Watch Ultra 4, a new Apple TV 4K, HomePod mini 2, and a HomePad or HomePod Touch as likely announcements at the event.

The focus of the outlook is that the September event could expand beyond the iPhone and Apple Watch to include smart home products. Apple has typically unveiled new iPhone and Apple Watch models together, and the report raised the possibility that major home products could be bundled into the same event. The outlet said a September event would be the right time if Apple wants to draw major attention to new home products.

The placement of smart home devices also aligns with Apple's product strategy. The outlet noted that smart home products are often seen as iPhone accessories. Putting home products on the stage alongside an iPhone-centered event would underscore connectivity and a message of ecosystem expansion at the same time. HomePod mini 2 and a HomePad or HomePod Touch being mentioned together also fits that trend.

The iPhone lineup includes two Pro models along with the iPhone Ultra. The Apple Watch lineup lists the standard and Ultra models side by side. With a new Apple TV 4K also included, the report raised the possibility that the September event could bundle smartphone, wearable and living-room devices at once.

Not all new products may be released in September. A revamped iPad mini is expected this fall, but it was grouped with the M6 MacBook Pro, which is seen as likely to be unveiled in October. That suggests Apple could split the September event and follow-up autumn announcements, arranging products by category.

Some products were missing from the outlook. New AirPods with cameras, a third-generation HomePod and a security camera were not included. NineToFiveMac said those products have also been mentioned before and would not be out of place at a September event. For now, it only confirms that higher-priority product lines are the iPhone, Apple Watch and core smart home devices.

Market attention is ultimately focused on how prominently Apple will push its smart home business at the September event. If Apple puts a spotlight on its home lineup, the event could be structured as a venue that goes beyond a simple iPhone unveiling to reveal its smart home expansion strategy.
