Samsung SDS is moving a multi-LLM strategy to the forefront to target the enterprise AI transformation (AX) market.
Samsung SDS CEO Lee Joon-hee (이준희) shared details of cooperation with Anthropic, with which it recently formed a strategic partnership, during a second-quarter earnings conference call on Wednesday. "For the first time domestically, we have built cooperation frameworks with all of the global top three frontier AI companies: OpenAI, Google Cloud and Anthropic," he said. "In a situation where performance leadership among models is being reshuffled quickly, multi-LLM capabilities that provide models optimized for customer environments are a differentiated competitiveness that Samsung SDS has," he added.
"The multi-LLM strategy is already being executed within Samsung," Lee said. "Samsung SDS is providing integrated support for the adoption of multi-LLMs across all Samsung affiliates, including Samsung Electronics. In this process, we are building revenue models and securing large-scale operational know-how," he said. "We will build a virtuous cycle in which this proof-of-concept experience leads back to AX business competitiveness," he added.
Samsung SDS previously signed a strategic partnership with Anthropic at an AI summit hosted by the government in San Francisco on July 25.
Lee said, "Through this cooperation, we will jointly discover new Claude-based businesses and also pursue marketing together. We will also strengthen service competitiveness by jointly training applied AI engineers," he said. Applied AI engineers are specialists who, rather than directly researching AI foundation models, support the application and implementation of existing AI technologies and models to fit real business, product or industrial on-site problems.
According to Lee, Samsung SDS is conducting verification work by first introducing Claude Enterprise for its employees. "Based on this, we will expand to external customers in the future," Lee said.
Samsung SDS is also strengthening investment in the physical AI field. In June, Samsung SDS made a strategic investment in Walden Robotics, a U.S. physical AI full-stack company, through Samsung Venture Investment.
"Starting with cooperation with Walden Robotics, we will expand partnerships with global companies in the robotics field and push a robot orchestration business that integrates control of various robots and links with manufacturing execution systems," Lee said.
