Dassault Systemes said on Wednesday it has opened the Dassault Systemes Busan Technology Center in Busan to support digital innovation in the shipbuilding and marine, and defense industries.

The company said the center includes office space for Dassault Systemes Korea employees and experience and collaboration areas for customers and partners. Inside the office are a Technology Center where visitors can experience the 3DEXPERIENCE platform and industrial solutions, a VR experience area using sense computing, and a Mini Shipyard demo zone. It also has a multi-purpose room for meetings, training and discussions, an office zone for employees, and a work lounge for programs including seminars, customer events and networking events.

Woon-sung Jung (정운성), CEO of Dassault Systemes Korea, said the center was created in Busan, which he described as the heart of South Korea’s shipbuilding and marine industry, to consolidate Dassault Systemes’ technology and know-how and provide practical support for digital transformation in shipbuilding and marine as well as in defense. He said the company will use the center as a base to strengthen cooperation with local shipyards and defense companies, and will provide full support for developing talent in related fields and for smart manufacturing innovation.
