KT is expanding membership and mobile plan benefits for the summer vacation season and strengthening support for its retail network and partners.

KT said on Wednesday it is pushing customer support measures as follow-up steps after a meeting on July 23 between the vice prime minister of the Ministry of Science and ICT and chief executives of the three telecom operators.

From Aug. 3 to 31, KT will offer benefits through the "K.Mem.Fe" (KT Membership Festa), including a 10,000 won discount on airport lounges, 50 percent off for the customer and 1 companion at Caribbean Bay, 60 percent off at Lotte Rental's G car, and 10 percent off domestic accommodation and 12 percent off overseas accommodation on Agoda. It also prepared daily-life benefits, including up to a 9,000 won discount on mobile payments at Baedal Minjok and Yogurt World, 30 percent off Baskin-Robbins Ready Pack, and 50 percent off popular drinks at Gong Cha.

Support for overseas travelers will also be expanded. Through August, KT will provide 50 percent more data to customers using "Together Roaming" and support the Grab Travel Pass for free. It will provide benefits worth 20,000 won to customers using Naver Pay overseas QR payments. For a month in August, new subscribers to the online-only unlimited plans "Yogo 61" and "Yogo 69" on USIM or eSIM will receive benefits equivalent to the first month's fee in the form of a payback.

KT will provide double the base and shared data for young customers and issue up to 10 benefit coupons a year to long-term customers. Customers aged 65 and older will receive additional data and the Ansim Box add-on service for free.

It will provide operating funds, including special win-win cooperation funds, to agents. For information and communications construction partners, it will run a 100 billion won win-win cooperation fund to expand low-interest loans and support for safety supplies and equipment.

Kang I-hwan (강이환), an executive director and head of KT's Customer Service Division, said, "We plan to continue expanding customer-centric benefits and services." He added, "We will also steadily continue win-win activities so we can grow together with the telecom ecosystem, including the retail network and partners."
