T Map Mobility is expanding its business from a navigation app into a car life platform that bundles vehicle purchases, insurance and maintenance. T Map Mobility said on Monday it has partnered with Hankook Tire's car service chain T Station to offer tire discounts.

Users can apply discounts immediately when they sign up for affiliated products through the "T Station affiliated products" section in the T Map app. The "Kinergy EX" model offers discounts of up to 50 percent, while other Hankook Tire products offer discounts of up to 25 percent plus an additional 5 percent discount for "all my T". The two companies will provide up to 50,000 won in Naver Pay points depending on the number of Hankook Tire products purchased from Monday through July 24, with the points paid in a lump sum on Aug. 14.

It also sells car accessories such as "FineVu" dashcams and "The Smith" tinting film at the lowest prices nationwide. FineVu dashcams will refund 100 percent of the price difference if they are not the lowest-priced. An on-site engine-oil replacement service from partner "CarSuri" has already been used by 36,000 people. Customers choose the date, time and location, and a technician visits to replace the oil, with the price including air-conditioner filter replacement, labor and travel costs.

It is also expanding in insurance. The number of subscribers to special auto insurance discount plans based on T Map's driving score is nearing 5 million. Based on this, T Map Mobility has expanded its offerings to include cancer and dental health insurance, travel insurance and lifestyle insurance. The company said users can compare products from insurers on one screen and handle consultations and sign-ups at once.

Car purchases and sales, as well as long-term rental, can also be handled within T Map. New-car comparison quotation services from partner CarLab allow users to receive lowest-price quotations from 2,400 dealers nationwide.

Yu Jeong-hwa (유정화), a car life business leader at T Map Mobility, said the company is evolving beyond navigation into a platform that helps users across their car-related life, from buying a car to insurance, maintenance and selling their car, based on "overwhelming big data" such as driving habits, driving history and mobility logs. She said it will expand into a platform that covers customers' entire lives.
