IMU, a POS and kiosk company under Korea Credit Data, has signed a contract with Austrian POS specialist Orderman to supply an overseas-only solution, it said on Wednesday.
Orderman, which became IMU's solution partner, was founded in 1993 and launched what it described as the world's first mobile handheld terminal for the restaurant industry the following year. It has since established global standards for mobile ordering. It is currently supplying solutions to more than 75,000 stores worldwide.
IMU plans to use Orderman's distribution network across Europe, the Middle East and the United States to expand the phased rollout of its integrated platform. It also plans to complete a "global integrated retail platform" model that combines big data services using payment and operational data, an advertising platform and an infrastructure business.
Jae-seop Choi (최재섭), CEO of IMU, said, "This contract will be an important inflection point in IMU's global strategy and will become a standard model for expanding overseas markets." He added, "Based on unrivaled technological capabilities spanning hardware and software, we will build a sustainable growth structure in the global market."
