Samsung Electronics said on Sunday that Harman Kardon, a brand of its subsidiary Harman, will launch the SoundSticks 5. The product newly adds tweeters to each satellite speaker to implement a 3-way audio design.
A down-firing subwoofer provides bass, and an ambient lighting system has also been newly applied. It also offers 5 nature-themed lighting presets. Users can set the desired colour to suit the mood or space. Lighting has been applied to the satellite speakers and the subwoofer.
The design comes in 2 versions: transparent white and black with a smoke-glass effect. Touch-sensitive controls are placed at the bottom of the right satellite speaker. Lighting and EQ settings can be controlled in the app.
It supports Bluetooth 5.4 and Auracast, and can be connected to a TV via an HDMI ARC cable. It can be used as a desktop speaker, a home stereo system and a TV sound solution. The suggested retail price is 499,000 won.
Grace Koh (그레이스 고), head of consumer audio for Asia Pacific at Harman International, said, "The newly launched SoundSticks 5 is an innovative product that carries on the forward-looking legacy of the original model and has achieved meaningful advancements in visual, auditory and user experiences."
