Biber, a luxury watch trading platform affiliated with Dunamu, has appointed Song Seung-hwan, former head of Life and Fashion at Kurly, as chief strategy officer to develop new businesses and enter global markets, it said on Sunday.
Song is a commerce strategy expert. He previously served as head of global business and head of Smile Delivery at eBay Korea, and later led Kurly’s logistics subsidiary Kurly Nextmile as chief executive while also heading its Life and Fashion division. He has led business strategy and logistics innovation for more than 20 years in the domestic and overseas e-commerce industries.
Biber plans to use Song’s appointment to expand beyond luxury watches into alternative investment assets and step up its push into global markets. Biber said monthly transaction value exceeded 15 billion won last year, and it has maintained its growth momentum by rolling out technology-based services including Biber One and Biber AI Lens.
"I will accelerate innovation to strengthen our position as Korea's No. 1 timepiece platform and to make the leap to a global alternative investment platform," Song said.
