[DigitalToday reporter Chi-gyu Hwang] TikTok is quietly introducing a standalone short-form drama app, Findrama, in the United States and Brazil and expanding the short-form content market, TechCrunch reported on Thursday.
Findrama offers micro dramas made up of 1-minute episodes. It supports users in easily finding content they want through various genres and recommendation features.
The app is available for free on iOS and Android and is currently offered without ads. Users can browse trending dramas in the "Discover" tab or receive vertical recommendations tailored to their preferences. Findrama spans genres including thriller, romance and family. Popular titles include "Love at First Bite" and "The Officer Fell for Me."
TikTok began experimenting with short-form dramas last year by introducing a "TikTok Minis" section in the app. It plans to target the short-form drama market in earnest with the launch of Findrama. The short-form drama industry has grown rapidly in recent years and is expected to expand to an annual $26 billion by 2030.
