Eyez Entertainment, led by CEO Namkoong Hoon (남궁훈), has raised a total of 20 billion won in investment from KakaoGames and Krafton.
Eyez Entertainment said on Wednesday that KakaoGames and Krafton each invested 10 billion won in its Series A funding round.
The latest investment brings Eyez Entertainment’s total funding to 36 billion won. The company previously raised a total of 16 billion won in a seed round in 2024.
It plans to use the funds to improve the completeness of its chatbot game messenger currently under development and to finance its service launch and user activation. It will also explore domestic and overseas business cooperation plans with KakaoGames and Krafton.
The service under development by Eyez Entertainment is a chatbot game messenger in which people and AI form a social graph together and communicate. Users can play chatbot games through conversations and choices, and connect with other users based on avatars and interests.
A key direction of the service is to combine gaming and social features inside the messenger and offer conversation itself as content. Eyez Entertainment plans to roll out the chatbot game messenger sequentially in Japan and South Korea.
KakaoGames CEO Kim Tae-hwan (김태환) said Eyez Entertainment has the capabilities to implement AI-based commercial services based on experience accumulated in the messenger, gaming and content fields.
Krafton CEO Kim Chang-han (김창한) said he hopes Eyez Entertainment’s attempt to combine games and conversation will lead to a new user experience in the AI era.
Namkoong said Eyez Entertainment will repay the trust shown by KakaoGames and Krafton with results and demonstrate the potential of a new messenger for the AI era in which conversation itself is enjoyed as content.
