KT HCN said on Oct. 29 it will air the first episode of its senior dating reality programme 'Hollo Talchul' Season 4 on Nov. 2, incorporating AI technology.
First launched in 2023, 'Hollo Talchul' is a local-channel programme that follows people in their 60s and 70s as they seek new relationships. It logged 14 million cumulative views on YouTube, with a peak of 580,000 views for a single video.
The new season introduces AI-based auto-tracking filming, AI matching that recommends dating partners, and AI narration. It also adds entertainment by comparing AI recommendations based on analysis of participants' pre-interviews with their actual choices.
Hollo Talchul Season 4 was selected for the '2026 Local Broadcasting AI Production Demonstration Support' project hosted by the Korea Communications Commission and the Korea Radio Promotion Association. KT HCN was the only system operator selected.
The season was produced with Okcheon County in North Chungcheong Province as its backdrop. It will run for 10 episodes and air every Monday on KT HCN's local channels.
KT HCN producer Miseon Cho (조미선) said, "We maintained the programme’s original appeal of seniors’ honest love while adding new attempts using AI technology."
