LG Uplus said on Oct. 29 it provided emergency relief supplies and communications services to residents displaced by a fire in Seoul's Guryong Village, working with the Korean Red Cross.
LG Uplus installed a free smartphone charging booth and WiFi at a shelter set up at Guryong Middle School and provided power banks. It also installed WiFi at the Gaepo Middle School shelter so evacuees could contact family and acquaintances and check needed information while in evacuation.
Myung-sub Lee (이명섭), head of LG Uplus' CSR Innovation Team, said he hoped the support would help residents struggling after the sudden fire. He said the company would work to provide communications support so they can contact family and check needed information even while evacuating.
