LG CNS has signed a co-investment partnership with General Atlantic, a leading global investment firm, and will move in earnest to invest in global enterprise technology companies.

LG CNS aims to diversify its business portfolio by strengthening its enterprise software business, which generates stable and recurring revenue, alongside its existing IT services and AX businesses. It also aims to secure a business foundation that can be scaled in global markets.

LG CNS signed the co-investment agreement at General Atlantic's headquarters in New York on Sept. 24 local time.

Under the agreement, LG CNS and General Atlantic will look for enterprise technology companies and explore investment opportunities in software and AI. The two companies plan to disclose investment size and terms on a case-by-case basis when target companies are confirmed.

General Atlantic is a global investment company with assets under management of $130 billion as of June 30, 2026, or about 175 trillion won. LG CNS plans to combine General Atlantic's global investment expertise to jointly identify strong enterprise technology companies and explore ways to create synergies in investment and business in global markets.

LG CNS plans to expand its existing enterprise software business on the back of the investment. It aims to secure software assets with intellectual property rights to strengthen a stable revenue base through licensing and subscriptions. It also plans to use acquired software technology and customer bases to build a foundation to expand business globally by linking IT services and AX with software.

LG CNS said the spread of agentic AI is also a factor that raises the strategic value of enterprise software. It said enterprise software that manages core corporate operations and data and meets requirements such as security and regulation is essential to link with AI so it can understand corporate work and make judgments and execute tasks on its own.

LG CNS plans to use its secured enterprise software to expand customer touchpoints, centered on the North American market and extending to regions including Asia Pacific, and to seek new business opportunities.

LG CNS CEO Shin-gyun Hyun (현신균) said, "As AI accelerates innovation in how companies work, proactively securing enterprise software that handles core corporate operations and data will be an important momentum to lay the groundwork for future growth." He said, "We will secure a core business foundation with General Atlantic that will determine future growth and combine it with LG CNS's AX capabilities to create new customer value."
