[DigitalToday reporter Lee Ji-young] Shinhan Financial Group discussed ways to cooperate with Korean and Japanese financial and policy institutions in future finance areas including transition finance, carbon markets and digital assets.

Shinhan Financial participated in the Korea-Japan Financial Cooperation Conference held on Sept. 28 at the Korea Financial Investment Association in Seoul's Yeouido district. It said on Sept. 29 it sought ways to cooperate in climate and digital finance.

The conference, themed "Building trusted climate finance infrastructure in Asia", was organised by Yonsei University's Graduate School of Environment and Finance and the Korea Green Finance Forum, and sponsored by Shinhan Financial.

Officials from major institutions, including universities and research institutes at home and abroad, financial authorities and the Asian Development Bank, attended. They discussed climate transition finance policy, digital finance innovation and directions for the development of digital-asset markets.

Shinhan Financial also took part in a panel discussion on "The future of climate and digital finance in Asia". It shared the group's strategy for promoting transition finance and its digital-asset compliance, and discussed potential cooperation between the two countries' financial markets.

A Shinhan Financial official said, "We will expand cooperation with Korean and Japanese financial institutions to advance climate and digital finance and seek new business opportunities."
