Fujifilm Electronic Imaging Korea, also known as Fujifilm Korea, said on Tuesday it has appointed Yujiro Igarashi (이가라시 유지로) as its new chief executive.

Fujifilm Korea will operate its South Korean unit under a leadership structure with Igarashi as CEO and Lim Hoon (임훈) as president. It plans to strengthen competitiveness in its domestic imaging business and continue activities to expand photo and video culture.

Igarashi joined Fujifilm in 1997 and has built a career in the imaging industry for about 30 years. He worked as a commercial coordinator at Fujifilm's UK unit in 2002 and later served as manager of the product planning group in the electronic imaging business division at headquarters in 2008. In 2013, he moved to the Americas unit, serving as general manager of the electronic imaging and optical device business division and head of the imaging business. From 2021, he served as head of the professional imaging group in the imaging solutions business division at headquarters before becoming head of the imaging solutions business division, leading Fujifilm's global imaging business overall.

"South Korea is an important market with deep interest and affection for photos and videos and high expectations for new imaging experiences," Igarashi said. "I will continue to listen to users' voices and contribute to further development of the domestic photo and video culture."
