SK Telecom is expanding its 'Runmate' programme for running customers.
SKT operated a Runmate booth at the "2026 Infinity Challenge Run in Gyeongju" held in Gyeongju on Sept. 19, and will run follow-up promotions for the autumn running season, it said on Saturday.
SKT joined as the event's main sponsor and set up experience spaces and convenience programmes for runners. More than 3,400 people visited the Runmate booth. It also ran a Samsung Electronics running device trial zone. Participants tried the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9, as well as the Galaxy Buds4 and Buds4 Pro.
At 6 points along the race course, it set up "Runmate hydration stations" to provide water, glucose candy and bananas. At the finish line, it installed a "cooling gate" that sprayed mist.
SKT is continuing promotions for running customers. It will provide invitations to a "2026 Garmin Run Korea" event to a total of 500 people. The race will be held on Nov. 15 at Goyang Stadium. SKT customers can apply by selecting either the 10 km or half course on the Runmate promotion page through Oct. 11.
SK Telecom plans to roll out follow-up promotions in stages, including "Try running 10 km in a month", "Raise your running pace" and "Record your running challenge".
Yoon Jae-woong (윤재웅), head of SKT's Product & Brand Division, said, "We prepared related programmes so runner customers can carry the joy of finishing a race into their next challenge." He added, "We will continue to expand products and benefits that help the running journey."
