Woori Financial starts bank CEO succession process, expands committee role
Woori Financial Group has begun management succession procedures to appoint the next head of Woori Bank. Woori Financial Group said it launched the process after holding a meeting of its subsidiary CEO candidate recommendation committee. The company plans to expand the role of the bank executive candidate recommendation committee, add a new review of management performance, and involve external specialist organisations to verify performance from a market perspective. It will also set detailed standards and procedures in advance.

Shinhan Financial starts selecting CEOs for 12 units, expands bank nomination panel role
Shinhan Financial Group has begun selecting next chief executives for 12 subsidiaries whose CEOs’ terms expire at the end of this year. It plans to improve management succession procedures by expanding the authority of the bank’s executive candidate nomination committee to recommend candidates and by detailing CEO evaluation criteria for each unit. The group’s subsidiary CEO nomination committee also recommended Shinhan REITs Management CEO Lim Hyun-woo as head of a merged entity.

Woori Financial names separate group chief consumer protection officer
Woori Financial Group said it created a consumer protection division at its holding company and appointed a dedicated chief consumer protection officer. It said this is the first case among South Korean financial holding companies to name a holding-company-only CCO rather than a concurrent post. The group will oversee consumer protection policies across all subsidiaries. Woori also completed CEO recommendations for 11 subsidiaries, extending 10 terms by a year and replacing the Woori FIS CEO.
